The Lane Writers Reading Series (LWRS) is excited to feature Eugene poets Joan Dobbie, Martha Gatchell, and Kelly Eastlund for our January 2017 event. Refreshments will be available. Joan, Martha, and Kelly also happen to be the hosts of this series. We hope to see you there!

JOAN DOBBIE has been a Eugenean since 1983. She has a 1988 MFA in Creative Writing from the U of O. For more than 20 yeats she conducted Poetry Immersion classes in Eugene and cohosts the Lane Writers Reading Series. She is chairperson of the Oregon Poetry Assn 2016 Fall and 2017 Spring adult contests. Joan’s poems have appeared in chapbooks, magazines, and anthologies, and several have won prizes. Her full-length poemoir, “Woodstock Baby: A Novel in Poetry” appeared in 2013. And she’s a “Red Sofa” poet!

MARTHA GATCHELL cohost the Lane Writers Reading Series. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of William Stafford and helps organize an annual Stafford celebration and reading. Martha’s poems have appeared in Fireweed Portland Review Callapooya College and other literary journals. Her manuscript, “Life in the Nearby Forest” is in progress.

KELLY EASTLUND’s poems have appeared in the journals Poetry Quarterly, Shot Glass Journal, The Whistling Fire and others, as well as the chapbook How to Love Everything, by members of the Eugene critique group Red Sofa Poets. She is a member of OPA, Secretary of the Lane Literary Guild, and a cohost of the Lane Writers Reading Series.
