Ann Staley has taught writing in rural libraries, at Hillcrest, for Women who Log small plots of trees, at the Island Institute in Sitka AK, and at the Oregon Correctional Facility in Wilsonville. She believes that everyone has a thousand stories following them around, and that if you just get a pen in your hand and a welcoming environment, you will want to get them down and share them with others. She has just published her third collection of poems, Afternoon Sky, Harney County, and will read from this 100 page collection of recent work. Ann has been nominated twice for Oregon Poet Laureate and twice for an Oregon Book Award. She teaches writing classes at Chemeketa CC, Adult Ed. and through the Portland Arts Community at Menucha.

Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow. Our hosts, The Barrel & Keg, feature a wide variety of beverages and the food pod in the back has a rotating menu of options for dinner!
The Barrel & Keg is located at 1190 Broadway Street N.E. Salem, near the intersection of Market and Broadway.
We will have the area in back reserved. Just park in back or across the street and walk through the front door.
