Arturo Sarmiento was born in Mexico City. In college he majored in humanities at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana. Sarmiento was recognized by the Mexican Young Poets Contest sponsored by Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. He has also participated in several poetry workshops with celebrated poets like Hector Carreto and Francisco Hernández. Sarmiento has been published in magazines and newspapers. Developing a career as an announcer and radio broadcaster has been a goal and Sarmiento hosts the show “Hispanidades” at KMUZ radio. You can find him participating in activities promoting the values of the Hispanic culture.
