Salem Poetry Project Featuring Paulann Peterson and Andrea Hollander
Paulann Petersen, Oregon Poet Laureate Emerita, has eight poetry books, most recently My
Kindred from Salmon Poetry in Ireland. Recently the Latvian composer Eriks Esenvalds
commissioned three poems from her to use as lyrics in his new choral composition, Naming the
Rain; and this summer Willamette Writers awarded her the Kay Snow Legacy Award.
Andrea Hollander’s sixth full-length poetry collection is And Now, Nowhere But Here (Terrapin Books, 2023). Her work has published widely, including a feature in The New York Times Magazine. Her many honors include two Pushcart Prizes (poetry and literary nonfiction) and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow.
