Born and raised in the Great Lakes region, Judith Arcana has lived in Oregon since 1995. She writes poems, stories, essays and books, publishing online and on paper. Her work has been fostered by residencies and supported by grants, so she’s permanently grateful. Judith’s new poetry collection, Announcements from the Planetarium, came out in April from Oregon’s Flowstone Press. The poems examine memory, consider the nature of wisdom, and reflect on the experience of aging into new consciousness. Judith hosts a poetry show on KBOO community radio and online. M has served as a Poetry Editor for Stirring: A Literary Collection for 19 years. Her work has appeared in a variety of journals, was selected as a finalist for two consecutive years for the Rattle $5000 Annual Poetry Prize, and is anthologized in The Widows’ Handbook (Kent State University Press, 2014). Her chapbook, To That Mythic Country Called Closure, was released by Concrete Wolf Press in 2013.
