WHO: Write Around Portland runs community-building creative writing workshops at hospitals, schools, homeless youth shelters, senior centers, low-income housing buildings, prisons, treatment facilities and social service agencies.
THE BOOK: Write Around Portland releases its 53rd anthology— Know These Mountains / Conocer estas montañas—of community writing by adult and youth participants from our fall 2017 workshops held throughout the Portland metro area. The anthology includes introductions by Matt Blair, writer, software programmer and Write Around Portland board member, and Amanda Gonser, Write Around Portland volunteer facilitator and a tech non-profit professional.

Readers will include long-term HIV survivors; middle school students; young adults in a job training program; adults living with a mental health diagnosis; members of low-income housing and assisted living communities and many others.
These readings are funded in part by generous support from Oregon Cultural Trust, Work for Art, Beaverton Arts Program and CareOregon.
