SUMMARY:Salem Poetry Project Featuring Salem Means Peace Anthology
DESCRIPTION:Salem Means Peace is an anthology of poetry by 29 Salem-area poets from school age to older adults. Edited by Eleanor Berry for Save the Salem Peace Mosaic, it celebrates the preservation of the mosaic through poems that seek to find or create peace in this city whose name literally means “peace.” Together, the poems in this anthology form a sort of mosaic of peace, created— like the Salem Peace Mosaic itself—by a diverse community. Joining Eleanor to read from their poems in the anthology will be Dina Triest, Elizabeth Keyser, Elizabeth Martino, Jess Kolman, Jim Merrill, Marilyn Johnston, Nitza Hernandez, and Sarah Rohrs.\nThe Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow. For more information contact Marc Janssen at mrcjanssen@msn.com ( mailto:mrcjanssen@msn.com ).\n
