SUMMARY:Studio Series Poetry Reading and Open Mic
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Brittney Corrigan and Endi Bogue Hartigan\nBrittney Corrigan is the author of the poetry collections Daughters, Breaking, Navigation, 40 Weeks and most recently, Solastalgia, a collection of poems about climate change, extinction, and the Anthropocene Age (JackLeg Press, 2023). Brittney was raised in Colorado and has lived in Portland, Oregon for the past three decades, where she is an alumna and employee of Reed College. She is currently at work on her first short story collection. For more information, visit http://brittneycorrigan.com/.\nEndi Bogue Hartigan is a Portland-based poet whose third full-length poetry book oh orchid o’clock–released in spring 2023 from Omnidawn Publishing–explores histories of clock measure, temporal presence in today’s realities, and impacts of our obsession with time. In 2021, Oxeye Press published her series the seaweed sd treble clef, a handmade chapbook of poems and photographs. Her poetry book Pool [5 choruses] (Omnidawn, 2014) was selected by Cole Swensen for the 2014 Omnidawn Open Poetry Book Prize and was a finalist for the 2015 Oregon Book Award for poetry. One Sun Storm (Center for Literary Publishing, 2008), her first book, was selected by Martha Ronk for the Colorado Prize for Poetry and was a finalist for the 2009 Oregon Book Award for poetry. In 2012 she co-published the chapbook out of the flowering ribs in collaboration with visual artist Linda Hutchins. Her work has also appeared in numerous journals─including VOLT, New American Writing, Denver Quarterly, Interim, Chicago Review, and others─ as well as in collaborative projects with artists and writers. More on her work can be found at endiboguehartigan.com.\nThe Open Mic is open to all audience members. Participants can sign up before the start of the reading or during the break. In the interest of time, Open Mic readers are asked to limit their readings to three minutes.\nDid you know you can view clips of featured poets reading on our Facebook page? https://www.facebook.com/groups/1281329966139780/\nThe Ross Island Grocery and Café is a cozy space with capacity for 40 or so people. Tables are available, so people who arrive early can enjoy a light supper (i.e., a sandwich, salad or burger) while waiting for the reading to begin. If we run out of table space, folding chairs are available. A mic will enhance the readings. There is plenty of unrestricted parking on the streets around the Café.\n
