SUMMARY:Salem Poetry Project at Marco Polo Featuring Stephanie Lenox
DESCRIPTION:For the month of April the Salem Poetry Project will meet at Marc Polo Global Restaurant. The restaurant’s address is 300 Liberty St SE, Salem and the reading will be in the banquet room.\nStephanie Lenox is the author of two full-length poetry collections, The Business and Congress of Strange People. With H. K. Hummel, she co-authored Short-Form Creative Writing: A Writer’s Guide and Anthology and co-founded Blood Orange Review, an online literary journal now run by Washington State University’s English department. As an enrolled member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, she takes weekly classes in Bodwéwadmimwen, the language of her tribe, an experience that informs her most recent poems about language and family. She lives in Salem, Oregon, where she works for Chemeketa Press, the academic publishing arm of Chemeketa Community College.\nEach week the Salem Poetry Project presents a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first.
