SUMMARY:Salem Poetry Project featuring Seimonn DeLeon
DESCRIPTION:After graduating high school with a diploma and an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts, Siomonn De Leon hightailed it from Oklahoma straight to Oregon. He now resides in a swell Salem cave with his partner and his devil cat, Nosfuratu. As a poet, he’s hunting for publication and taking the spare little moments of the world under a microscope for his own sick and twisted literary purposes. De Leon furthers his artistic expression through film photography and illustration.\nApril 30 through June 11 the Salem Poetry Project will be temporarily housed at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel near the Oregon State Capitol, 770 Chemeketa St NE. Their parking lot is one-way, with the entrance on Chemeketa St and the exit on Court St. There is also a fair amount of street parking. Enter through the west entrance, the one that faces the parking lot and YMCA. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow.
