SUMMARY:Salem Poetry Project featuring Susan Kay Anderson and Sean Dwyer
DESCRIPTION:Susan Kay Anderson resides at the headwaters of Sutherlin Creek in southwestern Oregon’s Umpqua River Basin. Her poems in Mezzanine (2019), feature her work as a graveyard-shift custodian at a university. She is also the author of Virginia Brautigan Aste’s memoir, Please Plant This Book Coast To Coast (2021), recently excerpted in Emergency Horse #9.\nSean Dwyer grew up in central Montana and currently lives in Portland where he received both a BS and MSW from Portland State University.  Sean has been writing poetry since childhood but has only recently begin to share his work.  Exploring existential themes of nostalgia, loss and alienation, Sean’s work was profoundly impacted with the early onset of Parkinson Disease 15 years ago.\nThe Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow. For more information contact Marc Janssen at mrcjanssen@msn.com ( mailto:mrcjanssen@msn.com ).\n
