Salem Poetry Project Featuring Carol Hottle

Carol Hottle is a writer and teacher who writes poetry and short stories and teaches poetry to adults and children. Her dance writing has appeared in Arterial. Her poetry has been published in Sing! Heavenly Muse, Farm and Ranch Living, and Highland County Journal.

Carol’s poetry comes from the heart. Growing up on a farm in southern Ohio, she discovered her connection to nature and life and death—and the importance of relating to others honestly and kindly she learned in a small town. A poet and dancer, she elevates her human experience as she celebrates the joys of self-expression.

Her poems often show the truth she finds within her spiritual experience, bearing witness to what is seen and what is beneath that. Her use of vivid visual detail creates landscapes and stark feeling statements for the reader to feel peace and a profound and authentic experience of life.

The Salem Poetry Project continues virtually. Each week presents a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow. For zoom details contact Marc Janssen at [email protected]
