Phil McCorkle pairs his poems with photos he has taken. Photos will be projected on a screen during the reading.
Phil has been a writer much of his life. Most recently published in a regular Statesman Journal column which ran for two years, he has also written and edited more than a dozen newsletters, written freelance articles for Flyfishing Magazine, and worked for a year as the assistant outdoor sportswriter for the Statesman. Working at various nonprofit organizations, he has frequently written grants and appeal letters during his 30-year fundraising career. He began writing poetry as a creative outlet, and began pairing them with his photos. His poems and pictures frequently focus on the outdoors and nature and the lessons there that cast light on life. He lives in Salem with his wife, Kathi, and dog, Mick.
