Ann Staley, born in Harrisburg, PA, has lived in Oregon for the last forty years: Ashland, Gold Beach, Cave Junction, Corvallis, Portland, Corvallis. Ann taught Creative Writing in six counties in Oregon. She has mentored and supervised student teachers in two junior colleges, three universities, and taught creative writing workshops all over Oregon. Ann’s first three full-length books include: Primary Sources, Instructions For The Wishing Light, and Afternoon Sky Harney Desert. Two shorter books include, Age Of Bronze, Fire In The Desert. Her recent collections include: Small Beauties, a chapbook, 2021 and The Spirit That Moves In All Things, her fourth full-length book, April 2021. Ann has been nominated twice for Oregon Poet Laureate, once for an Oregon Book Award. Honors, indeed, but she knows she’s really The Poet Laureate of 8th Street.
