Beyond the Ekphrastic Free Poetry Workshop
Ekphrastic poetry is very popular right now. In its strictest sense, an ekphrastic poem describes another work of art. But there is so much more poets can do with a painting, photo, sculpture, or drawing.
In this workshop, we will read some ekphrastic poems by others and look at the art that inspired them. Mostly, however, we will look at a variety of art pieces and discuss the various ways you can incorporate those pieces into your poetry. We will then have time to write some poems and those who wish to share what they have written may do so.
This workshop to open to all, but attendees must register beforehand. Registration link is available on the library website.
