Cirque reading and Rubin book launch
Cirque, a literary magazine that features Northwest writers, will feature winners of its “Poetry of Place” contest and the publication of Crossing the Burnside Bridge by Janice Rubin at a reading Aug. 13, 4 to 6 p.m. at Tsunami Books in Eugene. The door will open for socializing at 3:30.
Area poets reading from their work will include Ingrid Wendt, Jenny Root, Tim Whitsel, Marc Jansen, Sherri Levine, Dale Champion, Amalie Hill, Sue Fagalde Lick, Thomas Mitchell, and Cirque editors Sandy Kleven and Cynthia Steele.Â
Rubin, a counselor and educator, was nominated for the Pushcart Poetry Prize in 2008. She has taught at Oregon State University and Lane Community College. She is the author of Transcending Damnation Creek Trail and Other Poems and Tin Coyote, which was nominated for the 2019 Stafford/Hall Award for Poetry. Â
