Salem Poetry Project featuring Freedom

Freedom presents a variety of writers, some with years of experience, disparate backgrounds and ages, from across borders and boundaries stitching a tapestry of this country’s immigrants and First People together, not into a “melting pot” but rather as “WE the People” each one of us carrying a significant thread of culture and history woven into a serendipitous patchwork.
This anthology contains personal definitions and questions: What is freedom and what do we expect from it? Freedom may seem like a clear-cut concept but it has become an ongoing exploration as expansive as billions of people with distinct points of view. For what is freedom if not a personal concept of life and how to live in this world.

The Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow.
