Salem Poetry Project Featuring Susan Napack

Susan Napack is visual artist who began writing poetry before she knew what it was. Her much younger self experienced the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa Institute back when Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso and William Burroughs were around. Her poems appear in Open Doors, with a preface by poet and mentor, Michael Lally.

Her exhibition at Bush Barn, Memory Project Part 2: SHREDS, an installation of transformed ephemera from her life, will be open for viewing the night of the presentation. Susan asks Open Mike participants to consider reading works about memory +/or favorites from their past.

The Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow.
