Salem Poetry Project Featuring Susan Woods Morse

Susan Woods Morse writes poetry that explores “place” and family relationships. She spent thirty years in CA, then another 30 years in Maine, and now she has lived in the Willamette Valley for the past 7 years. If she lives here for another 30 years, that would be quite amazing! Along the way she has had one chapbook, In the Hush, published by Finishing Line Press in 2019 and now has a collection, Quilting the Loose Edges, just released in June 2023 by The Poetry Box out of Portland. Quilting the Loose Edges honors her sister, who is a talented quilter, as well as Susan’s own travels through life in three different states.

The Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow. For more information contact Marc Janssen at [email protected].
