Salem Poetry Project Featuring Suzy Harris
Suzy Harris is a retired attorney who is learning to hear again with two cochlear implants—which she writes about in her chapbook, Listening in the Dark. She has been an Oregon Poetry Association prize winner and, in 2022, served as poetry editor of Timberline Review. Her poems have appeared in Calyx, Clackamas Literary Review, Switchgrass Review, and Williwaw, among others. Born and raised in Indiana, she calls Portland, Oregon home.
The Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow.
