Salem Poetry Project Featuring the Willawaw Journal
Willawaw Journal, edited by Rachel Barton, is an online magazine for poetry and art, published twice a year–Fall and Spring. Each issue features the poem prompt of a northwest poet laureate and sometimes a model response from the editor. Our mission is to encourage writers and artists to create, and to generate a community where a diversity of voices is welcome. To celebrate the 18th issue with a reading at the Salem Poetry Project. It will feature many Willawaw poets from the Willamette Valley area who live close enough to attend.
The Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow.
