Music, Poetry, and Calls for Peace

OPA Member, Ingrid Wendt, of Eugene, is excited to announce that one of her poems has been set to choral music by composer Paul Safar, and its premier performance (sung by the vocal ensemble Humanis) will occur in Portland on August 1, at 7:30 pm, in the Lincoln Hall Recital Hall, PSU, 1620 SW Park Ave.
Along with her reading of Lacrimosa, Ingrid will read four more poems as part of a larger event: “Intersections: Music, Poetry, and Calls for Peace,” featuring other choral works on themes of reconciliation and peace, sung by the choral ensemble, juxtaposed with a lively mix of classical, jazz, traditional, original, contemporary, and folk music by piano and hurdy-gurdy duo Safar (Eugene) and hurdy-gurdist Marc Egea (Barcelona, Spain).

Suggested donation at the door: $15-$30. No one turned away.
